BroadBand Light Therapy
Adults of any age can be plagued by skin issues such as uneven skin texture, loose skin, or age spots. While there are many home remedy options available at your local grocery or drugstore, you’ll never be able to fully treat your skin problems, if at all, with normal creams and ointments. If you are looking for something stronger that can produce stunning results, maybe it’s time to look at one of the latest advancements in cosmetic skin treatment: Light. Not just any light of course, but a concentrated wavelength that can target the problem and heal your skin from the inside out.
Pure by Alpha Dermatology strives to provide our BroadBand Light Therapy for patients in New Hope, Sellersville, PA, and surrounding areas with the best results of smoother and clearer skin. If you are having issues with your skin and feel this treatment could be helpful, please keep reading below to find out if you’re a good candidate and learn more about the process.

What Is BroadBand Light Therapy
BroadBand Light Therapy (BBL) is a non-surgical procedure that uses light energy to gently heat the upper layers of your skin. When the targeted areas absorb the heat, the reaction stimulates your skin cell regeneration, eventually providing your skin with smoother, clearer, more vibrant skin which in turn rejuvenates your appearance.
BBL is most often used to treat the following conditions:
- Acne
- Age Spots
- Brown spots from sun damage
- Freckles
- Hair Reduction
- Loose Skin
- Redness/Rosacea
- Uneven skin texture
- Vascular lesions (e.g., small blood vessels)
What are the Benefits of BroadBand Light Therapy?
Our Technicians at Pure have seen our New Hope and Sellersville Broadband Light Therapy patients enjoy the following benefits from their treatment:
- Decreases signs of aging
- Diminishes the appearance of redness/ rosacea

- Are overall in good, general health
- Have avoided recent sun exposure
- Maintain realistic expectations and are optimistic about the treatment results
- Unhappy with their skin tone and texture
- Would like to eliminate dark spots or red spots
This procedure is a great preventative measure for patients in their 30s who are looking to maintain bright and youthful skin or can be utilized by 60-year-olds who are looking to revitalize their skin and restore a more youthful appearance.

What’s the first step?
The first step in getting BroadBand Light Therapy in New Hope and Sellersville, PA is to contact the nearest Pure by Alpha Dermatology to you and schedule an appointment with one of our certified providers. During this appointment, you will be able to address your concerns and ask questions regarding the procedure, as well as receive an examination of the area you are looking to treat. Your provider will ask you questions about your medical history and use the information provided to create your treatment plan. It is very important to be open and honest when discussing your medical history as it will help prevent any unnecessary risks or side effects during the procedure or your recovery.
If you agree with the technician’s treatment plan, you will be able to meet with our Patient Coordinator to schedule a date and time for your procedure.
What to Expect on the Day of BroadBand Light Therapy
When you come in for your BroadBand Light Therapy, the provider can offer to apply some numbing cream over the treatment site to make you have a more comfortable experience, however, this is not necessary. You will also be provided with protective eyewear to shield your eyes from the light. We will set the power of the light and begin going over the treatment area in short bursts. The energy level can be adjusted to get the most out of your session through stronger pulses or dialed down to match your comfort level.
*The whole treatment will take about 30 – 45 minutes to complete.
BroadBand Light Therapy Recovery
After your treatment, you will be given some sunscreen to wear before leaving our Medical Spa. This will help protect the newer layers of skin. You will be able to return to your daily routine, but your face may appear reddened and a little sensitive. There will be some mild swelling for the first few days and you will notice that your skin will flake off after one or two weeks. If treatment was performed on blood vessels, you can expect some bruising as well. For our patients with a lot of redness and/or sun damage, we want to forewarn you that you may see a lot of pigment come to the surface after your first treatment. This is to be expected and will last about three to five days post-treatment.
We strongly recommend that you wear a good SPF and protect your skin every day to get the most out of your BBL.
While you will see long-lasting results after multiple sessions, your skin is continuously exposed to hazards (i.e. sun, scarring, hormones, environment, etc.) that cannot resist picking up the new pigment. Due to these unavoidable factors, you may need to consider BBL treatments every year to maintain the results.
Cost
The average cost of BroadBand Light Therapy in New Hope and Sellersville is about $425.00 each or a package of three at $1,200, but is also determined by a variety of factors, including the area being treated and how many sessions you will require to achieve your goals. When you come in for your consultation and we can craft your treatment plan, our Patient Coordinator will give you a price breakdown for the entirety of your treatment.
