What is Laser Tattoo Removal?
Laser Tattoo Removal is a non-ablative treatment that uses a high-intensity beam to break up pigment colors. Black ink responds best to the treatment, however, different colored inks can also be removed by different lasers based on the pigment color. Common reasons for tattoo removal include:
- Changes in personal taste
- Employment
- Military
- Misspellings or mistakes
- Breakups
At both of our locations, we utilize the Q-Switched Nd: Yag Laser, which works by targeting specific pigments in the skin and focuses on damaged skin cells in the treated area. When it comes to laser tattoo removal, this laser targets ink pigment and breaks it up into smaller particles through powerful bursts of energy. The ink is then absorbed into the bloodstream and eventually expelled from the body.
The Q-Switched Nd: YAG laser utilizes two energy frequencies; 1064 nanometers, to target deeper skin layers, and 532 nanometers, to address hyperpigmentation and more superficial layers. The diversity of the laser allows us to treat over 30 different skin conditions, such as:
- Acne
- Age spots
- Birthmarks
- Broken facial capillaries
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Freckles
- Leg veins
- Rosacea
- Scars
- Stretch marks
- Sunspots
- Unwanted hair
